Configuring the detection of calls to unauthorized phone numbers

 

The detection of calls to unauthorized numberless protects against certain types of programs (dialers), which close an existing phone connection (if you are using a modem) and establish another connection to a premium-rate number.

 

Note: Dialers affect computers with conventional modem dial-up Internet connections. Broadband Internet connections are not affected.

 

lets you specify the numbers to which calls can be made. The program will block calls to unauthorized numbers and display a pop-up warning.

 

Follow these instructions to specify the telephone numbers which you want to authorize:

  1. Go to the Status menu in the main program window.

  2. In the Protection section, click Settings.

  3. Click Identity protection and make sure that the Enable identity protection option is selected.

  4. In the section for detecting unauthorized numbers, click Settings.

  5. You'll see a window in which you can enter the telephone numbers. Click Add to add new numbers to the list. If you want to modify one of the numbers, select it and click Edit. If you want to delete a number from the list, select it and click Delete.
